In order to prevent other road users from being dazzled, an automatic levelling system is integrated as a standard in Xenon headlamps. This system adjusts the headlamp permanently to the different situations of load. Adaptive lighting systems combine the advantages of Xenon-light with modern developments for an optimum illumination of the road in every driving situation. These developments include static and dynamic curve light and, prospectively, town and motorway light.
Headlamp washing systems for Xenon headlamps are required by law. They ensure clean lenses and consistently good light distribution.
A luz de Xénon pela intensidade e natureza da projeccao, ao "atingir" sujidade ou elementos estranhos na lente "espalha" e decompoe-se em diferentes tonalidades de forma maisfácil do que as restantes fontes de luz conhecidas (halogénio, iodo, LED e pelos vistos Laser).

Due to their increased brightness, an automatic vertical aim control is required in the case of Xenon headlamps. Since 1998 the ECE-Regulation R48 requires the compensation of vehicle inclination caused by different loading conditions. The purpose of this regulation is on one hand to avoid glaring of oncoming traffic and on the other hand to ensure an optimum range of illumination. For Halogen headlamps it is allowed to realize this vertical aim control (VAC) as manual controlled, whereas an automatic VAC is required for Xenon headlamps.
